SMABTP's ambition is to make its range of services available to the men and women of the international construction industry.
This is how it has established itself, for several decades, in Spain and then in Portugal. Since 2017, the Group's international activity has accelerated with the creation of two subsidiaries: SMABTP Belgium and SMABTP Côte d'Ivoire. In 2023, the acquisition of stakes in DUPI and Woningborg will give the Group a foothold in the Netherlands and Germany.
A ratings initiative
A ratings initiative
The ratings initiative launched by the Group resulted in SMA SA being rated A+ with stable outlook by Fitch Ratings in February 2020. This rating was confirmed in July 2023, along with a second A+ rating for SMABTP. This September, these ratings were confirmed once again in recognition of the Group's recent acquisitions, which have diversified its business and extended its international reach. The Group has also reduced its exposure to equities, thereby lowering its high risk assets ratio from 90% at the end of 2022 to 74% at the end of 2023. These results underline the financial strength of the Group and its excellent capitalisation and provisioning practices.
